HCUD has the following projects/topics in the works for future approval and acceptance by the Board of County Commissioners. We are providing the information below to comply with the required Public Notification process.

Section 2 - Sec.28-565 (f)(1) of the Ordinance Amendment allows for in-person viewing of the Wellhead Protection Areas (WHPA) maps and Special Protection Areas (SPAs) maps at:

Hernando County Utilities Department - Administrative Building

15365 Cortez Blvd., Brooksville, 34613.

While walk-ins are allowed, it is strongly recommended to call ahead for a designated viewing time to ensure one-on-one staff assistance and avoid unnecessary waiting time.

Please call 352-540-4368 extension 35859 to schedule a time.

Hours of business are Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm, holidays excluded.

    January 13, 2026 - Board Chambers Meeting to start at 5:01pm or shortly thereafter:

    The proposed Ordinance amendment will go before the BOCC for review/acceptance.

    1st Resolution hearing for the updated WHPA and SPA maps. Per ordinance, it must go before the Board twice.


    February 10, 2026 - Board Chambers - Meeting to start at 9:00 am:

    2nd Resolution hearing for the updated WHPA and SPA maps.


    The Board meets in the John Law Ayers room located on the first floor of the Government Center at 20 North Main Street in Brooksville.
